Composition 90/10: Down quality is a matter of the weight ratio of down to small feather mixture, which is expressed in percent. Deuter uses high performance filling ratio of 90% down to 10% small feather. High quality sleeping bags should have a fill power of at least 650 cuin. This measurement in cubic inches per ounce of down shows the quality of the loft and expansion power of the filling. High quality down has a loft volume of 650 cu in (10.6 litres) per 1 ounce (28.3g). A loft of 550 cu in, and higher is good; of 650 - excellent; and 800 is almost impossible. In the end: the higher the volume the better the insulation value.
