Our clear-set goal: to reduce the negative impact of our actions on man and nature. We haven't picked the easiest way since for us there are no compromises when it comes to the product's quality and durability.
Every step of our journey is committed to environmental and social responsibility - an integral part of Deuter since 1898.
Deuter has been developing innovative backpacks, bags and accessories for 114 years. Our standards in terms of quality, functionality and durability are correspondingly high. We are fully aware that standards like these are only possible because our employees (and those of our manufacturers) are highly competent and motivated – everywhere in the world! That is why good working conditions and a safe and pleasant working environment are so important to us – both at our head office at Gersthofen near Augsburg and at our long-standing partners in Vietnam and China. The company Duke in Vietnam has manufactured for Deuter exclusively since 1994. We have already achieved a great deal. But we have now decided to take things a step further. With the help of the bluesign® standard, the world’s strictest standard, we are able to examine and optimise our production process. With the ‘dirt bag’ project plus our commitment to the European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA) we are promoting concrete projects for environmental protection. It is our responsibility to make sure that our products are functional and durably reliable companions for active people. That is why we invest a great deal of time and effort in the development, production, testing and repairs service of our backpacks, bags and sleeping bags. Fundamentally, we would like our core business to be sustainable – but we are also committed to social causes. As far as possible, we support both local and international aid projects. For example, Deuter donated €10,000 towards the construction of a school in the Nepalese capital of Kathmandu. No matter how big or small, one thing is true of all these projects: they are administered by organisations or people whom we trust 100%, because we have established a friendly partnership with them over many years.
